Chief Operating Officer, Response Operations
Jason began working with WCK in 2017 during the Thomas Fire in California and has since assisted with various WCK efforts, across the US and internationally. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, where he launched several successful businesses. Now, as Chief Operating Officer, Response Operations, Jason oversees all of our relief work— from emergency response to special operations. He also utilizes his experience in procurement and operations to help our field operations run smoothly. When not working, Jason’s passions include his wife and two children, football, and the outdoors.

WCK’s Alaa takes us on a quick tour of the construction site where we are building our newest Field Kitchen in Gaza. Our Maintenance and Construction Team is working nonstop to get this space ready to start cooking tens of thousands of meals daily for displaced Palestinians. The kitchen is named after Zomi, one of our team members killed in the April 1 IDF strike on a WCK convoy.

In 2022, Hanna helped WCK provide meals to families fleeing her city of Poltava in search of safety as Russian launched its full scale invasion of Ukraine. The city has come under constant attack recently and a missile hit the garage of her building this week. Thankfully, she survived the blast and was able to receive support from our Emergency Response Team.

WCK is working alongside bakeries in Gaza to provide fresh saj bread with the meals prepared by our kitchen teams. We are distributing tens of thousands of plates of food daily, each served with freshly-baked flatbread, to Palestinian families sheltering in camps in Deir al-Balah and surrounding areas. Through these partnerships we support local businesses and provide a comforting regional staple with each meal.
