John McLellan
John is originally from Scotland where he served for 16 years in the Scottish Police Service. He left Scotland in 1999 and worked in Kosovo, East Timor, Kyrgyzstan, Albania, Vietnam, and Suriname in positions as diverse as police instructor, security consultant, and security manager. He and his family moved to the US in 2010 where he worked for a number of years with Chemonics International before joining International Justice Mission in February of 2017. John has over a decade of experience in developing and post-conflict countries, where he has a proven track record of developing relationships, team building, and community liaison. A high performer in all areas including business management, crisis management, training and mentoring of staff, investigations, transportation and logistics, developing and introducing policy changes to improve administration, and operational efficiencies. In his previous position as the Global Vice President of Corporate Security for International Justice Mission, John had oversight of the organization’s security platforms for their project in countries as diverse, from a security perspective, as El Salvador and Cambodia. The organization had an operational presence in 14 countries globally.
