About the Meal Milers

WCK acts with the urgency of now. We are first to the frontlines providing fresh meals to families impacted by crises worldwide. To highlight the work of the people that fuel our efforts—staff, partners, volunteers—a group of new and experienced runners has come together to represent WCK in the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 13th. Together, known as WCK’s Meal Milers, this group from all backgrounds has set personal fundraising goals to support WCK’s work. Learn more about our relief efforts here.

Meet the Runners

Adonis Clark

Adonis is a St. Louis native (Go Cardinals!) and he and his wife have three children and one grandson. Adonis began running in November 2022 and since then, running has become essential to his mental, physical, and emotional well-being. His first marathon was the Pittsburgh Marathon in May of this year and he is excited to support and participate in the Chicago Marathon.

Brack Watters

Brack is running the Chicago Marathon to honor Damian and Zomi who were close friends and colleagues, so the sacrifice of all 8 WCK team members who lost their lives in Gaza will never be forgotten. Since joining WCK in 2020, Brack has been a part of more than 15 responses with WCK spanning the globe with one purpose—to share hope to people in need. Over the years, Brack has pushed himself mentally and physically to complete Ironmans, ECO challenges, endurance obstacle course races, climb 14k mountains, and train with the elite in the US military.

Camila Chávez Vinatea

Camila started working with WCK in 2023 after the devastating earthquake hit Morocco. She’s a Peruvian chef based in Guatemala and although it has been more than 10 years since she began running, Chicago will be her second marathon. In addition to starting her quest to complete the Abbott World Marathon Majors, she feels this is the perfect way to honor her humanitarian work and continue to raise awareness on the amount of hope that food is able to bring after traumatic events.

Amy Sennett

Amy has a goal of finishing 50 marathons before age 50 and she is honored to be running her eighth Chicago Marathon as a first time member of WCK’s Meal Milers. Amy met her husband through marathon training and they were engaged at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Now, as a mom of two living in DC, she runs to teach her kids the importance of dedication and determination.

Amador Acosta

Amador has been a chef in restaurants for more than 20 years. He first started out in the restaurant world working for a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant in downtown Chicago while he went to a Le Cordon Bleu culinary program through the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago. From there Amador moved up through the ranks working in kitchens in Chicago, Spain, Italy, and New York City.
