About the Meal Milers
WCK acts with the urgency of now. We are first to the frontlines providing fresh meals to families impacted by crises worldwide. To highlight the work of the people that fuel our efforts—staff, partners, volunteers—a group of new and experienced runners has come together to represent WCK in the 2025 Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America. Together, known as WCK’s Meal Milers, this group from all backgrounds has set personal fundraising goals to support WCK’s work. Learn more about our relief efforts here.
Meet the Runners
Francisco Javier Fuentes Saldaña
Francisco is a Mexican entrepreneur and energy expert living in Mexico City. He started running marathons at the age of 50 and today, at 60 years old, his desire is to run his sixth major marathon in Boston and get his Abbott World Marathon Majors Medal.
His passion is to achieve difficult challenges and improve the sustainability of society through energy projects. Francisco is also a fan of Mexican street food and organizes get-together lunches with his team every other week to enjoy popular street specialties.
He believes that everyone deserves a hot meal no matter where or why, and that’s the reason he is very proud to support WCK.
Nicole Wong
Nicole is an experienced marathon runner with a passion for all things food. She was a teacher and professional baker before becoming a clinical registered dietitian so that she could apply her training in education and culinary arts to positively impact people’s health. Her goal is to run a marathon in all 50 states, and running Boston has been her longtime dream. After witnessing WCK’s incredible work in her local Florida community in the aftermath of hurricanes Helene and Milton, she was inspired to take action and support WCK’s mission.
Javad Malik
Originally from Pakistan, Javad has lived and worked almost all his life in the United Kingdom. He is married with three grown up children. Javad has been running for almost 10 years and actually ran his first marathon on his 50th birthday! He runs for the sense of freedom and challenge running alone gives you. He has run 7 marathons including Manchester, Bethlehem-Palestine, Berlin, London, Paris, Chicago, and New York City. His next challenge is running Boston 2025 to support the lifesaving and essential work that WCK is doing in Gaza and the West Bank.
Javad is running for freedom, basic human rights, and dignity and for Palestinians.
