35 million meals: The latest from WCK’s Covid response
Since WCK’s Covid-19 response began last year, we have served more than 35,000,000 meals across the United States, Spain, the Dominican Republic, and Indonesia. Working in over 400 cities, WCK teams have provided meals to healthcare workers, families impacted by the pandemic, and people experiencing homelessness. In the United States, our Restaurants for the People program has tackled multiple crises caused by the pandemic by paying restaurants to cook meals for neighbors in need, and to date, we have put more than $140 million back into local food economies helping to keep restaurant employees working.
