Standing Ovation for José Andrés’ Award Acceptance Speech

\Jose at Refugees International José Andrés was awarded the McCall-Pierpaoli Humanitarian Award at the Refugees International annual dinner Wednesday night, April 30. His passionate acceptance speech about World Central Kitchen's work around the globe was received by an all-crowd standing ovation.

In his speech, he emphasized the fact that the people World Central Kitchen helps “do not want our pity, they want our respect.” Andrés founded this organization with that truth in mind and continues to implement it today through projects including Boulanjri Beni in Haiti and 21 Women Honey in the Dominican Republic.
