FIRST ALERT: WCK is on the ground in La Rapita, Catalonia, Spain after severe flooding from Dana Alice

October 13, 2025

World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is on the ground in La Rapita, Catalonia, Spain to support food and water needs after severe flooding.

In recent days, a DANA has severely affected Spain causing heavy flooding in several areas. Intense rainfall has disrupted parts of the Mediterranean coast, and multiple weather alerts remain active today as rain continues across the region. The most affected municipalities are La Ràpita, Santa Bàrbara, and Godall where homes, streets and infrastructure were damaged by flooding. Hundreds of people sought shelter at the height of the storm, and most have now returned home to begin cleanup. WCK distributed hundreds of meals to first responders and residents and is scaling up operations as additional teams and equipment arrive.

This remains a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for real time updates.
