FIRST ALERT: WCK is in Chile providing meals in response to wildfires
World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is on the ground in Chile, providing meals south of the capital, Santiago, as deadly wildfires force tens of thousands of people to evacuate their homes. Chilean President Gabriel Boric has declared a state of catastrophe in two regions, while first responders battle more than two dozen active fires.
World Central Kitchen has responded in Chile multiple times, most recently during wildfire emergencies in 2024 and 2023. Today, WCK is working alongside a strong network of local restaurant and chef partners to provide immediate support. Our initial focus is delivering meals to shelters hosting evacuees and to first responders working tirelessly to contain the fires.
