WCK mobilizes across southern US after devastating storms

January 10, 2024

World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is on the ground in Florida and Alabama supporting families impacted by a series of storms and tornadoes that swept across the eastern US. We are working alongside Chef Corps member Emeril Lagasse’s team in the region as well as Chef Corps member Kelsey Barnard Clark and our network of local food truck partners to ensure meals reach people in need.

A dozen tornadoes were reported across the southeastern US as part of the weather system that left widespread damage from Florida to New York. In parts of Florida and Alabama many homes were destroyed and thousands of people left without electricity after high winds damaged power infrastructure. The storms also left roads impassable and pelted communities with large hail.

WCK Relief Team members and our partners are in hard-hit communities providing meals and water as we assess needs. This is a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for real time updates.

Help us provide meals to impacted families.
