Haitian Community Garden Ready for Harvest

Haitian Community GardenJosé Andrés, the World Central Kitchen team, our partners CESAL, and the Haitian community of Palmiste Tampe were excited for the first harvest of our community garden.

The Palmiste Tampe smart school kitchen has already increased school enrollment by 136%, and now phase 2 of the program is up and running- a sustainable garden and chicken farm.

Today we harvested spinach, cabbage and Swiss chard from the community garden and cooked for 165 school children.

This mountain village in Haiti struggles to eat, but with this community garden and chicken farm they are growing their own food and will sell eggs for further revenue. Another Smart Solution to Hunger and Poverty!
