WCK Responding to Historic Flooding in Morocco

February 6, 2026

World Central Kitchen is in Morocco, where flooding has displaced about 140,000 people from towns like Ksar El Kebir. We are working with local partners to ensure impacted families get the support they need.

Schools, businesses, and roadways have closed. The intense rainfall, in combination with the intentional release of water from local dams, has contributed to this flooding. Red Alerts are in place for landslides and further flooding.

WCK teams are working with local partners who supported our 2023 response to an earthquake that hit the Atlas Mountains, some 70 miles southwest of Marrakesh. WCK teams worked alongside impacted communities to support recovery.

This remains a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for real time updates.
