World Central Kitchen has opened a new large-capacity Field Kitchen in northern Gaza—our second in the north and the newest addition to our growing network of now six Relief Kitchens across Gaza. Together with dozens of community kitchens, restaurant partners, and partner bakeries, this network is now cooking more than 650,000 hot meals every day and baking nearly 500,000 loaves of bread to support families facing extreme hardship.

Since first responding to the crisis in October, 2023, WCK teams have served more than 150 million meals and over 47 million loaves of bread in Gaza.

The new North Gaza kitchen, with capacity to produce about 150,000 meals daily, was designed with one urgent goal: reach more people, more reliably. Our teams worked nonstop the past two weeks to preassemble and install cooking tents, prep stations, dishwashing areas, and distribution lines that can withstand the intense pressure of round-the-clock operations.

As soon as the final sections were completed, pots were lit and chefs began cooking thousands of meals for people in shelters, schools, medical points, and displacement camps across the region.

Local team members describe this kitchen as a new beginning for families in the area. Alongside hot meals, WCK is expanding desalination systems and one of our new mobile bakery units to this location to ensure that families not only receive sustenance for today, but also the stability and dignity that come with knowing our support is consistent.
