Relief Team responds to refugee crisis in Armenia

September 27, 2023

The World Central Kitchen team is on our way to Armenia to support refugees who have fled Nagorno-Karabakh in recent days. The enclave was seized by Azerbaijan last week, forcing thousands of families to run.

Tens of thousands of people have recently fled into Armenia following increased hostilities with Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh. WCK’s Relief Team is working with local contacts who have shared that there is an immediate need for food assistance among refugee populations, with the number of people in need expected to increase in the coming days.

WCK has established strong culinary partnerships in Armenia, and our team is currently en route to provide food and water to families in need. This is a quickly evolving situation. Help us provide food to families in need.
