WCK Serves Passengers After Drone Strike Hits Train in Ukraine
WCK’s team in Ukraine is supporting passengers and crew from a train struck by a Russian drone today.
Our teams are at a train station in Ukraine’s northeastern Poltava region providing meals to people affected by the attack. After the strike, passengers were evacuated by bus from the damaged train and transferred to another, undamaged train so they could continue their journey safely. When the replacement train arrived in Poltava, our teams were there to meet it—serving hot meals to passengers, train staff, and emergency crews as they disembarked.
This response is part of WCK’s ongoing work across Ukraine to support communities impacted by Russian attacks. Our teams are also serving hot meals throughout Kyiv after heavy bombardment triggered a widespread energy crisis, leaving many families without reliable heat or power.
