WCK serving meals in Yokohama, Japan

February 18, 2020

World Central Kitchen’s Chef Relief Team has been on the ground in Yokohama, Japan for the past week supporting efforts related to the Diamond Princess coronavirus quarantine. We are currently working with Princess Cruises, the Japanese government, and other partners on the ground to deliver fresh meals to both the crew and guests aboard the ship safely and carefully.

WCK chefs are preparing and cooking meals at off-site kitchens before they’re transported to a field staging area. From here, our logistics team is ensuring that meals get onto the ship securely before the crew delivers them to individual rooms.

The crew members on the Diamond Princess have been working tirelessly to care for the guests of the ship, while also needing to take care of themselves through the quarantine. WCK is here to help their team serve the ship’s passengers by making the safe delivery of delicious meals one less thing to worry about as they carefully and expertly navigate this situation – while also making sure that the crew is able to enjoy warm, nourishing meals every day.

With many moving parts, we will do our best to keep sharing updates here. For real-time information, please visit twitter.com/wckitchen.
