WCK Responds to Destructive Wildfires in Chile

#ChefsForChile
Concepción, Chile | Active from January – February 2026
World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is on the ground in Chile, providing meals in and around Concepción as deadly wildfires forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate their homes.

Chilean President Gabriel Boric declared a state of catastrophe in two regions in mid-January.

World Central Kitchen has responded in Chile multiple times, most recently during wildfire emergencies in 2024 and 2023. Today, WCK is working alongside a strong network of local restaurant and chef partners to provide immediate support.

First responders in Libuy, Quillón & Cerro Negro have been working tirelessly in response to ongoing wildfires in Concepción, Chile. Supporting them is essential as the emergency response continues, so WCK teams are delivering fresh meals & water to help fuel their essential work. #ChefsForChile

Chileans have incredible energy and resilience.

Juan Camilo, WCK Response Director

As the recovery efforts continue, we are relying heavily on local partners and volunteers like Marcelita, who have been fueling our efforts since the beginning of this response.

Marcelita, a resident of Tomé in BioBío, has been at the heart of all four of WCK’s responses in Chile. Her experience with our teams plus her knowledge and care for her community make her a vital member of our current efforts supporting families impacted by wildfires in Concepción. #ChefsForChile
