WCK Returns to Philippines After Typhoon Kalmaegi

#ChefsForPhilippines
The Philippines | Active since November 2025
WCK is responding in the Philippines after Typhoon Kalmaegi—known locally as Typhoon Tino—caused power outages, infrastructure damage, and mass evacuations. Our Relief Team is working with local partners to serve meals to impacted families.

The fast-moving storm hit the central Philippines. More than 150,000 people evacuated to safer ground as authorities warned of torrential rain, destructive winds, and storm surges. To provide support, we are mobilizing local restaurants to serve meals for families in evacuation centers.

The storm hit communities still recovering from last month’s devastating earthquake. Our teams were on the ground across the region for nearly one month supporting families reeling from the quake and aftershocks. Working with trusted local partners, we served over 2.9 million meals to people in need.

Partner Spotlight: Maria Lina Catering

In areas hit hard by Typhoon Kalmaegi, our #ChefsForPhilippines restaurant partners are working around the clock to ensure their neighbors have something to eat. Maria Lina Catering—who also supported our response after the recent earthquake in Cebu—is once again serving families impacted by disaster. Partners like the Maria Lina team are the heart of our work in the Philippines and around the world, helping WCK deliver nourishing meals when they’re needed most.
