More than one-third of families here rely on SNAP, so our teams worked with local partners to distribute food kits that ensure families have a reliable source of nourishment as the delays persist.
We also responded to the 2025 government shutdown with our #ChefsForFeds program, serving meals to federal workers and their families impacted by the shutdown.
WCK launched our #ChefsForFeds initiative during the 2019 government shutdown, serving over 100,000 meals to federal workers and their families in D.C and hundreds of thousands more meals nationwide.

Locals helping locals
Relying on local leaders to reach families, WCK #ChefsForNavajo teams distributed meal kits to community members impacted by delays to SNAP benefits. Thanks to local community members Ollie and Tonna, who speak Navajo, we reached more than 1,000 people with groceries to cook the meals they love.

Through their support, we’ve also delivered kits to families in remote areas—many without running water or electricity—who would not have access to groceries without these deliveries.
