WCK Responding in Northeastern US After Historic Blizzard

#ChefsForThePeople
Cape Cod, Massachussetts | Active from February – March 2026
World Central Kitchen is in the Northeast United States, where a blizzard has left hundreds of thousands of families without power.

The powerful winter storm swept up the Eastern Seaboard, leaving more than 40 million people under winter alerts and blizzard warnings. Nearly 600,000 people across the Northeast were without power as heavy snow and dangerous conditions disrupted daily life.

WCK teams served in Cape Cod, working with local partners to ensure families have the meals they need as power and heating systems come back online.

In collaboration with Family Table Collaborative, led by WCK Chef Corps Member Jeni Wheeler, WCK teams served thousands of meals to families impacted by the storm. We also supported community members who were unable to leave their homes by delivering hot meals to their doors.

With our partners at Family Table Collective, our teams served over 10,000 hot meals. See photos of our work from the Cape Cod Times below.
