World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team was on the ground in Humphreys County, Tennessee, where an ammunition plant exploded. WCK teams worked with local partners to ensure meals reached people in need.
Our team showed up everywhere we were needed—at the explosion site, the family assistance center, Compassion Church, and the vigil at Waverly Café. From warm sausage biscuits in the morning to roasted chicken with mac and cheese, collard greens we served southern favorites that offered a comforting taste of home.

“I started with WCK after Hurricane Michael, when a hurricane affected my community,” said WCK team member Dani. “Since then, I’ve been able to come back home to Tennessee and support different responses.”
