World Central Kitchen is on the ground in California, providing meals after heavy rains triggered major flooding in San Bernardino County.

Working alongside local restaurant partners, teams are serving hot meals to families in the mountain communities of Wrightwood and Lytle Creek.

Severe storms swept across the U.S. West Coast through the Christmas holiday, causing destructive flooding and damage to homes and businesses. Mandatory evacuations were in effect for several mountain towns—many still recovering from historic wildfires earlier this year. WCK is ensuring families have the meals they need.

After devastating floods cut power and access across parts of Southern California, WCK’s local partners stepped up fast.

In Wrightwood, Amy and the team at Lemon Bird Preserves and Wrightwood Cheese are feeding their neighbors as the community digs out and rebuilds—serving breakfast burritos in the morning and soup and grilled cheese for lunch, made with the very best ingredients.
