The Yes We Can School operates out of a mobile classroom in a converted bus to ensure refugee children can continue to receive an education while they’re living in shelters. We are proud to have partnered with them to provide the kids a healthy lunch each day.

Mariana is the owner of La Gobernadora—a local restaurant and long time WCK partner that helped us provide hot meals to migrants and refugeees in Ciudad Juarez.

Since March 2021, Koko's partnered with WCK to provide comforting meals to families sheltering in place due to Covid protocols in McAllen, Texas. Koko's is owned by Albert and George, brothers who are known as leaders in their community.

In recent years there has been a sharp increase in the number of people arriving at the US-Mexico border. Fleeing poverty and violence many hope to seek asylum in the US—a process that is not guaranteed and may take up to a year or more. Unable to return home and with no place to stay, families are often stuck near the border waiting for their cases to be heard.

In Tijuana, the WCK Relief Kitchen provided nourishing meals each day to migrants staying in shelters, many of whom were families with young children. After setting up first in Tijuana, WCK opened a second kitchen to serve refugees sheltering in Matamoros, Mexico—about 1,500 miles from Tijuana and just across the border from Brownsville, Texas. In Ciudad Juarez and several other locations on both sides of the border, WCK worked with local restaurants to distribute meals to families. After nearly four years of cooking, WCK has donated our kitchen equipment to local NGO Tijuana Sin Hambre who will continue to support shelters with fresh meals. 

For nearly four years since 2018, WCK prepared fresh, nourishing meals for refugees and migrants arriving at the southern US border.
