WCK Provides Meals Across U.S. in Response to Major Winter Storm
World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is on the ground as a severe winter storm blankets large swaths of America. WCK teams, in collaboration with our network of local restaurant partners and Chef Corps members, are working to serve hot meals and hot drinks to families impacted by power outages, limited access to roadways, and to emergency crews.
This winter storm stretched from Texas to New England-covering 2,000 miles of the country with ice and snow. Power outages impacted families across this area.
Immediately after the storm hit, WCK teams and partners were serving communities most impacted by the storm, including local shelters. Joined by our Chef Corps members, including Markos Panas in the D.C. area and Sam Walker in Arkansas, we are serving warm and comforting meals.
WCK teams have served meals in Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and North Carolina. As the storm passed, our teams are focusing on the South, where many communities remain without power.

I’m grateful to work in an industry centered around taking care of others, and even more grateful to partner with incredible organizations like World Central Kitchen to reach those in need. It’s times like these that remind me just how much we need each other.
