Fatima Castillo

Vice President, Community Response

Fatima Castillo is the Vice President of Community Response at World Central Kitchen, where she leads the organization’s global strategy to strengthen emergency responses through WCK’s Chef Corps, Volunteer Corps, and Response Corps.

Fatima brings more than a decade of nonprofit experience and is also a professional chef. Over the past six years with WCK, she has held operational and leadership roles supporting and managing emergency food relief operations across Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond. Her work focuses on building high-performing teams, strengthening partnerships with local NGOs and chefs, and designing responses centered on dignity, trust, and local leadership.

She first connected with WCK as a volunteer during a volcanic eruption in her home country of Guatemala—an experience that deepened her commitment to community-led response and reinforced her belief that strong local relationships are the foundation of effective humanitarian work. Throughout her career, she has worked to build bridges between communities, chefs, volunteers, and WCK’s global teams to ensure local knowledge and leadership remain at the heart of every response.

Fatima is based in Guatemala. In her free time, she loves cooking for others—food is her love language—and enjoys traveling the world with her husband and son. She is also a proud dog mom to three dogs and two turtles.
