Chief Operating Officer, Response Operations
Jason began working with WCK in 2017 during the Thomas Fire in California and has since assisted with various WCK efforts, across the US and internationally. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, where he launched several successful businesses. Now, as Chief Operating Officer, Response Operations, Jason oversees all of our relief work— from emergency response to special operations. He also utilizes his experience in procurement and operations to help our field operations run smoothly. When not working, Jason’s passions include his wife and two children, football, and the outdoors.

WCK’s newest Field Kitchen in Gaza will be nearly entirely women-run, women-operated. While our team finishes construction of this new space in Khan Younis, the Palestinian women who will staff the kitchen are being trained in Deir al-Balah. This model of supporting and empowering women while also providing much-needed aid is a direct reflection of the ingenuity and thoughtfulness of Zomi, one of our team members killed on April 1 by the IDF, who the kitchen is named after.

“The special thing about WCK is that it makes us feel like the food is home cooked.” Taghreed is one of the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians sheltering in central Gaza after being displaced from their homes. Earlier this month, WCK teams provided her, and thousands of people in the region, with a special lamb meal to mark Eid al-Adha.
