Jason began working with WCK in 2017 during the Thomas Fire in California and has since assisted with various WCK efforts, across the US and internationally. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, where he launched several successful businesses. Now, as Chief Operating Officer, Response Operations, Jason oversees all of our relief work— from emergency response to special operations. He also utilizes his experience in procurement and operations to help our field operations run smoothly. When not working, Jason’s passions include his wife and two children, football, and the outdoors.

  • Meet Reem, the head of a WCK-supported Community Kitchen in Khan Younis that provides essential meals to camps of displaced Palestinians. Reem had to relocate her kitchen from Rafah when conditions there became too dangerous, and WCK has supported her every step of the way with the tools and ingredients needed to prepare nourishing plates of food.

  • WCK’s Emergency Response Team in Khmelnytskyi provided hundreds of hot meals, sandwiches, water, coffee, tea, and snacks to first responders battling a dangerous fire that took several hours to extinguish in western Ukraine. The fire was caused by a Russian strike on an industrial facility located in a residential area. Nearly 100 emergency personnel were called to the scene to control and the blaze—some sustaining burns that required hospitalization.

  • WCK’s kitchens in Gaza frequently prepare stewed okra for families sheltering in makeshift camps. The dish is a local favorite that provides comfort and a taste of home for countless people. In Khan Younis, this family gathered to share okra stew, served alongside rice and bread.
