Service With Purpose in the Month of Hajj
The month of Dhul-Hijjah is precious for Muslims worldwide, the month of Hajj is a season that embodies the principle of sacrifice, reminding us all of the importance of selflessness and devotion to a higher cause.
As millions gather to observe Hajj, World Central Kitchen stands united in our commitment to service. Our teams are on the ground across the world supporting communities in need. In Gaza, we are working tirelessly to support Palestinian families impacted by devastating conflict.
Dedicated to service, our Palestinian-led teams have scaled quickly since resuming operations in May. WCK briefly paused our efforts after seven of our team members were killed by the IDF on April 1. Since resuming, cooks in our field kitchens in Rafah, Deir al-Balah, and Al-Mawasi are preparing tens of thousands of meals daily. To date we have distributed more than 46 million meals in Gaza and we are eager and ready to deliver millions more.
The decision for World Central Kitchen to restart feeding in Gaza is both the hardest and the simplest one we could make.
