FIRST ALERT: WCK in Burke, VA After Destructive Storm

June 23, 2026

World Central Kitchen is serving meals in Burke, Virginia after a storm on Monday damaged homes and downed power lines across several neighborhoods in northern Virginia. Our team is on the ground supporting impacted families. We’re partnering with Taco Bamba from Chef Corps member Victor Albisu to serve meals.

Monday’s storm brought heavy rain, strong winds, and hail that damaged homes, crushed cars, and knocked out power across the area—leaving many families unable to access food.

For households without power, and without air conditioning in the summer heat, access to a nourishing meal is both immediate relief and a reminder that help has arrived.

This remains a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for real time updates.
