First Alert: WCK Responding to Magnitude 7.4 Earthquake in Colombia

August 10, 2026

WCK is responding in Colombia, where a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck the Pacific coast. The regions of Chocó, Cali, Pereira, and Manizales have all felt the impact, and search and rescue efforts are underway. WCK teams and local partners are working to serve meals to people in need as quickly as possible.

WCK has deep connections in Colombia. When low-lying areas of the Córdoba department flooded in February, WCK teams worked side by side with our longtime local partners like Fundación Gastronomía Social to serve meals to families forced out of their homes. During that time, Chef Corps Member Harry Sasson also joined us on the ground to help cook for his community.

This remains a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for real time updates.
