First Alert: WCK Mobilizes to Pacific Northwest after Severe Weather

December 12, 2025

World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is in Washington after a storm system caused catastrophic rains in the Northwestern US. We’re working with Chef Corps members and local partners to serve meals to impacted families.

A powerful storm moved across the Pacific Northwest and parts of western Canada this week, overflowing rivers, damaging roads, and causing landslides in Oregon and Washington. After heavy rain on Monday prompted emergency rescues, an even stronger wave of rainfall arrived Tuesday night into Wednesday, pushing the Snoqualmie River near major flood stage in Carnation, east of Seattle.

WCK teams are on the ground with Chef Corps and restaurant partners, serving meals to first responders and impacted families.

This remains a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for real-time updates.
