First Alert: WCK is working with Oregon partners to serve meals amid historic flooding
World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is working with local partners in Southeast Oregon to provide meals and water to families affected by historic flooding.
A combination of heavy rains and melting snow caused severe flooding in Harney County in early April. Roads are blocked, homes destroyed, and families displaced. The Burns Paiute Reservation was especially hard hit, with homes sustaining significant damage. As snow continues to melt with rising temperatures, flooding persists, and E. Coli has been detected in the water supply due to damaged sewer systems.
WCK is coordinating with local partners to deliver food and water to affected communities to ensure families receive the support they need.
