Behind the Scenes of the Monitoring Team
WCK has been supporting the people of Ukraine since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of the country 19 months ago. The unpredictability of war has meant that the needs of communities can shift quickly: villages with consistent access to food and water can be left in urgent need following an attack. WCK’s Ukrainian Monitoring Team was established to ensure our support reaches the communities who need it most.
The Monitoring Team’s mission is to keep up-to-date with the current situations in frontline villages. Field Monitors Ruslan, Olha, and Vova—who we introduced in a previous blog—travel to different locations to speak with residents receiving WCK’s support. By talking with impacted Ukrainians and asking important questions, they gather crucial feedback on how our support can be most helpful. While our Field Monitors are the face of this effort, many more Food Fighters work behind the scenes to ensure the Monitoring Team is successful.
