    First Alert: WCK Relief Team Responding to Wildfires in Northwestern Spain

    August 12, 2025

    World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is en route from Madrid to the Ourense province of Spain, where wildfires are forcing communities to evacuate. First responders have been working to contain the blazes. Our team is mobilizing food trucks to support communities in immediate need.

    These latest fires come during a deadly heat wave affecting communities across the Mediterranean. In July, we responded to wildfires in Ávila‎, which devastated communities and forced families out of their homes.
