First Alert: Pakistan Flooding Forces 500,000+ People to Flee

September 4, 2025

WCK’s Relief Team is working with local partners in Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province as the worst monsoon floods to hit the region in 40 years have forced more than 500,000 people to flee their homes.

WCK is working with local partner Rizq in the eastern province to show up for people affected by the crisis. An estimated 3.3 million people are impacted across the province and our team on the ground is working to begin serving meals as quickly as possible.

Rizq—a Pakistani nonprofit—helped us respond to the 2022 floods in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces that impacted at least 33 million people. Establishing kitchens in both provinces, we worked together to distribute more than 77,000 meals and 5,000 food kits across hard-hit villages.

This remains a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Bluesky, Twitter, and Facebook for real time updates.
