First Alert: WCK Relief Team in Spain During Destructive Wildfires

July 30, 2025

World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is on the ground in Spain, where wildfires in the Ávila‎ region have caused destruction and forced families out of their homes. Thousands of first responders have been working to contain the blazes, many of which have been spreading since last weekend. This comes during a time of increasingly severe wildfires across the world as weather patterns become more and more extreme. The team is out with WCK’s large-scale food truck and bringing on local restaurant partners to support communities in immediate need.

In 2024, we responded to the devastating flooding in Valencia, where thousands of families were forced to evacuate and were living in shelters. During that time, we served over 6 million meals to these families.

This remains a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Bluesky, and Facebook for real-time updates.
