WCK In Southern Spain Responding to Storm Leonardo

February 4, 2026

World Central Kitchen is on the ground in southern Spain, serving meals in communities impacted by Storm Leonardo. A Red Weather Alert has been issued as the system brings extreme weather to inland areas of Cádiz and Málaga provinces, forcing thousands of families to evacuate.

The storm is bringing heavy rainfall, strong winds, and flooding, with the greatest impacts expected overnight and into the early morning hours. Our Spain team mobilized a food truck to the region ahead of the storm and is now serving sandwiches to displaced families and first responders. We are working closely with local partners to reach anyone in need as conditions continue to evolve.

This remains a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for real-time updates.
