World Central Kitchen is responding in Spokane, Washington, where blazing wildfires have forced more than 60,000 people out of their homes, blocked roadways, and impacted access to food. Current estimates say that about 10,000 people have lost power as a result and more than 700 buildings are destroyed, with the fire 0% contained. WCK teams and our local partners will be serving meals to families and first responders as recovery begins. 

This effort is occurring at the same time as our teams are on the ground in Spain and France,  where wildfires have similarly forced families to evacuate. For over a week, we have been serving first responders and evacuees while winds shift the flames and create continuing uncertainty. As wildfires become increasingly common and intense, WCK teams and our global network of local partners will be there to support impacted communities. 

In December of 2025, WCK teams worked with our community partners in Washington to serve families impacted by destructive flooding. From flooding to wildfires, our teams are committed to standing with communities impacted by climate-related disasters.
