Several communities were under mandatory evacuation orders and Governor Brian Kemp has declared a State of Emergency.
Our teams worked with local partners to deliver food and water to first responders and families in need.
This is WCK’s third climate-related response in Georgia. In 2023, we served 94,000+ meals in communities across Georgia and Florida after Hurricane Idalia. Then in 2024, we supported families impacted by Hurricane Helene in several states, including Georgia.

Meet the Team from Grinnin’ Possum
When the Highway 82 fire broke out in Georgia, the team from Grinnin’ Possum didn’t hesitate—the longtime WCK food truck partners knew they needed to serve their neighboring community.
This was not Grinnin’ Possum’s first time responding with WCK teams. They’ve partnered with us for three other natural disaster responses, including Hurricane Debby, Hurricane Idalia, and Hurricane Helene.
“It’s definitely a team effort. [The team is] all happy to do it and learning a lot of great life experience as well—preparing them for the future, to give back and serve their community too as they grow up,” team member Anna Lane told us.
