World Central Kitchen served meals in Burke, Virginia after a storm damaged homes and downed power lines across several neighborhoods in northern Virginia. Our team supported impacted families in partnership with Taco Bamba from Chef Corps member Victor Albisu.
The storm brought heavy rain, strong winds, and hail that damaged homes, crushed cars, and knocked out power across the area—leaving many families unable to access food.
For households without power, and without air conditioning in the summer heat, access to a nourishing meal is both immediate relief and a reminder that help has arrived.
