WCK’s Mobile Bakery

Introducing the newest member of the WCK fleet in Gaza! This powerhouse food truck can bake 3,000 loaves of pita bread per hour. The Kingdom of Jordan supported the building and transport of the truck, which could help make a big difference for the meals of the people it serves

100+ million meals for Gaza

Despite significant restrictions on humanitarian aid entering Gaza, our teams have delivered well over 100 million meals by land, sea, and air. We’ve set up four large-capacity Field Kitchens in southern and central Gaza and established a network of Palestinian-led, WCK-supported Community Kitchens that provide thousands of meals every day. With the help of local partners, we are expanding our food distribution efforts to the north, where the growing influx of returning families is increasing the demand for assistance.

Latest from the ground

  • WCK’s Chef Samar is in Khan Younis where today we began operations at our newest Field Kitchen. Meals from here will be distributed to Palestinian families sheltering in southern Gaza. Named Zomi’s Kitchen in honor of one of our team members killed in the April IDF attack, this space joins our Deir al-Balah and Al-Mawasi kitchens as our third large-scale kitchen currently in operation. Our team was forced to stop cooking at our first Field Kitchen in Rafah as attacks on the city intensified.

  • WCK’s newest Field Kitchen in Gaza will be nearly entirely women-run, women-operated. While our team finishes construction of this new space in Khan Younis, the Palestinian women who will staff the kitchen are being trained in Deir al-Balah. This model of supporting and empowering women while also providing much-needed aid is a direct reflection of the ingenuity and thoughtfulness of Zomi, one of our team members killed on April 1 by the IDF, who the kitchen is named after.

  • “The special thing about WCK is that it makes us feel like the food is home cooked.” Taghreed is one of the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians sheltering in central Gaza after being displaced from their homes. Earlier this month, WCK teams provided her, and thousands of people in the region, with a special lamb meal to mark Eid al-Adha.
