WCK Relief Team Responding to Magnitude 7.4 Earthquake on Colombia’s Pacific Coast

#ChefsForColombia
Colombia | Active since August 2026
WCK is responding in Colombia, where a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck the Pacific coast.

The regions of Chocó, Cali, Pereira, and Manizales have all felt the impact, and search and rescue efforts are underway. WCK teams and local partners are working to serve meals to people in need as quickly as possible.

WCK has deep connections in Colombia. When low-lying areas of the Córdoba department flooded in February, WCK teams worked side by side with our longtime local partners like Fundación Gastronomía Social to serve meals to families forced out of their homes. During that time, Chef Corps Member Harry Sasson also joined us on the ground to help cook for his community.

WCK was on the ground in Colombia immediately after yesterday’s earthquake struck. In Manizales, our teams spent the night walking the city streets—handing meals directly to families in the hardest-hit communities. As we mobilize across the region, one thing stays the same: when people need food, we don’t wait for them to come to us. We go to them.
