WCK Serves Meals After Intense Flooding in Colombia

#ChefsForColombia
Córdoba, Colombia | Active since February 2026
World Central Kitchen is responding in Colombia, where days of intense rainfall have triggered severe flooding, widespread power outages, and dangerous conditions that are forcing families from their homes. Working alongside local partners, our teams are serving meals to communities impacted by the storms.

Low-lying areas of the Córdoba department, particularly around Montería, are experiencing significant destruction as rivers overflow and floodwaters inundate neighborhoods, roadways, and farmland.

WCK teams are working with local partners, community leaders, Chef Corps members, and authorities to ensure meals reach anyone in need, including families sheltering after being forced from their homes.

With the support of local Chef Corps members like Harry Sasson, as well as community members across the affected region, WCK teams are working around the clock to serve families displaced by the flooding. Our teams have been traveling by boat to reach the hardest hit communities with food, water, and ingredients to cook for themselves.

Residents of El Volador had to abandon their homes in the middle of the night when the flooding hit, and they were finally able to return after nearly a week. They quickly organized a community kitchen, so WCK is supporting them with supplies so they can cook for their neighbors. #ChefsForColombia
