World Central Kitchen is responding in Central Florida after historic rainfall and flooding. With the power out, many families have lost everything in their refrigerators, and flooded roads have cut them off from grocery stores.
Our teams are working with local partners to serve nourishing meals to families in need in Barefoot Bay and surrounding areas.
Local community members are already stepping up to support one another. Using trucks, kayaks, airboats, and more, they are connecting with their neighbors impacted by the floods and ensuring that they are taken care of. The storm impacted residents living in mobile homes, in some cases, trapping them inside their homes. WCK teams will be working closely with these communities so that they have what they need.
