World Central Kitchen responded in Gary, Indiana, where thousands of residents were without power for about two weeks.
On August 11, a storm whipped through the state, damaging power lines and roads. As electricity remains down across many parts of Gary, WCK and our local partners are working to serve meals to families without access to food.
Community members had already stepped up for each other, so our goal was to work alongside them to best support families in need.
