World Central Kitchen is on the ground in southern Spain, serving meals in communities impacted by Storm Leonardo. The system brought extreme weather to inland areas of Cádiz and Málaga provinces, forcing thousands of families to evacuate.
Our Spain team immediately mobilized a food truck to the region ahead of the storm and served meals to displaced families and first responders as we worked to understand the community’s needs.
Using 4×4 vehicles, our teams accessed affected towns, where emergency services were active. In the northern area, WCK worked with a local restaurant partner to prepare and deliver food, fruits and water. Across the region, our teams are serving hot meals to impacted families and first responders.
As floodwaters receded, our teams remained on the ground to make sure that communities had the meals they needed to recover.
