Jason began working with WCK in 2017 during the Thomas Fire in California and has since assisted with various WCK efforts, across the US and internationally. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, where he launched several successful businesses. Now, as Chief Operating Officer, Response Operations, Jason oversees all of our relief work— from emergency response to special operations. He also utilizes his experience in procurement and operations to help our field operations run smoothly. When not working, Jason’s passions include his wife and two children, football, and the outdoors.

  • WCK’s teams navigated difficult terrain in eastern Bangladesh to reach three communities by boat today. Because the flooding is so severe, we will keep using boats to travel to as many impacted regions as possible. While identifying areas of need, we distributed 1,000 meals and bottled water to families affected by the flooding.

  • WCK’s Yevhen is checking in from Kryvyi Rih’s city center, where our team is providing support to emergency responders, residents, and hotel guests as rescue efforts continue after a deadly Russian strike last night. The city’s largest hotel—The Aurora—sustained a direct hit, killing at least two people and trapping many more under the rubble. The blast also damaged nearby shops, high-rise buildings, and cars.

  • Anas graduated with a degree in psychology. Now he prepares food at Damian’s Kitchen in Al-Mawasi. Psychology and food prep really aren’t all that different from one another–at their core, both exist to serve and support others, according to Anas. “This work,” he says, “is no less important than providing psychological support.”
