WCK California Mountain Fire
WCK’s Relief Team is en route to Ventura County, California where the skies are blazing orange because of the Mountain Fire. We will be assessing food and water needs as the fire spreads. The county says the fire is currently at 14,500 acres with 0% containment. Nearly one thousand fire firefighters are working on the blaze – on the ground and by air.
We are contacting local partners to determine how best to support residents affected by the fires and emergency personnel battling the flames. Hundreds of homes are under threat and evacuation orders remain in place. An evacuation center has been set up in Camarillo for people and a large animal evacuation center is at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.
This remains a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for real time updates.
