WCK en route to Northeast US After Historic Blizzard

February 24, 2026

World Central Kitchen is en route to the Northeast United States, where a blizzard has left hundreds of thousands of families without power. The storm dumped up to 3 feet of snow across the region over the weekend, disrupting food access.

The powerful winter storm swept up the Eastern Seaboard, leaving more than 40 million people under winter alerts and blizzard warnings. Nearly 600,000 people across the Northeast were without power as heavy snow and dangerous conditions disrupted daily life.

WCK teams are en route to Cape Cod to work with local partners to ensure families have the meals they need as power and heating systems come back online. Our teams are closely monitoring the situation to identify other communities in need.

This remains a quickly evolving situation. You can sign up to our newsletter to receive more information and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for real time updates.
