Caracas, Venezuela — World Central Kitchen (WCK) has served more than 1 million fresh meals to families, emergency responders, volunteers, and frontline workers in the weeks following the deadly June 24 earthquakes in Venezuela.

WCK teams served our first meals hours after the earthquakes and have since worked around the clock to provide fresh meals to impacted communities. As families begin rebuilding, WCK has adapted our operations to meet changing needs. Today, our teams are operating a large-scale Field Kitchen in Naiguatá, two community kitchens, and a network of local restaurant partners serving families across La Guaira and Caracas.

From local restaurants opening their kitchens, to volunteers serving meals, to community leaders helping us reach families, this response has been built by Venezuelans supporting one another. As communities recover, we’re proud to keep investing in the local kitchens and organizations that will keep nourishing their neighbors.”

As more families return home or move into temporary housing, WCK has focused on meal service where it is needed most. Our teams visit neighborhoods every day and work closely with local leaders to understand where families still need support.

Alongside daily meal service, WCK is helping strengthen local food programs by supporting community kitchens, including Cocinando por Venezuela and CK Casona Ararat, with food supplies, kitchen equipment, infrastructure improvements, and culinary training to expand their capacity.

WCK has also strengthened our partnership with Remar / Mensajeros de la Paz by donating bakery equipment that enables the production of more than 6,000 loaves of bread each day. Through this collaboration, WCK receives 2,500 fresh loaves daily to accompany meals while helping increase local bread production.

Throughout the response, WCK has worked alongside Venezuelan restaurant partners, community organizations, volunteers, and local staff whose commitment has made this milestone possible. Together, we have delivered fresh, culturally familiar meals while supporting local businesses and farmers.

This weekend, WCK also celebrated Children’s Day by distributing Kids Boxes filled with snacks, treats, coloring activities, and toys, alongside community celebrations featuring games, music, face painting, and entertainment for children and their families.

As families face the long road to recovery, WCK remains committed to supporting communities for as long as fresh meals are needed. Our teams will keep adapting our operations, strengthening local partnerships, and making sure families have access to fresh meals throughout the recovery.
