WCK Responds to Wildfires in Southern Spain

#ChefsForSpain
Almería, Spain | Active since July 2026
World Central Kitchen is responding in Spain, where wildfires in the province of Almería, Andalusia, have forced thousands of families to evacuate their homes and caused several fatalities. High winds are spreading the blaze and impacting containment efforts. Our teams are mobilizing to make sure communities and first responders have the meals they need.

In 2025, we served first responders and impacted families during wildfires in the Ávila‎ region. This comes during a time of increasingly severe wildfires across the world as weather patterns become more and more extreme.

In 2024, we responded to the devastating flooding in Valencia, where thousands of families were forced to evacuate and were living in shelters. During that time, we served over 6 million meals to these families.

WCK’s Nelly is on the ground in southern Spain, where blazing wildfires have forced families to evacuate their homes. Our team is distributing meals at a humanitarian aid and community support center—and we won’t stop until we’ve reached every family in need.
